About the Authors
John d., John W., and Eric F. met in Chengdu, China in the Summer of 2009. The trip had a lasting impact and they've been friends ever since. Ping Pong Panda was written to share the same ideals from their trip: friendship, culture and learning a new valuable language.
When not writing books, they like to climb mountains together.

Chinese/English Communication- The Now and Future
We believe that by learning THIS ONE skill you and your child could become exponentially more:
-Hireable
-Gain access to the largest global economy
-Communicate with over one billion people
-Tap into a rich culture that is thousands of years old
The world in your palms, all with this ONE skill. Who wouldn’t want to gain that edge?
So what is the secret?.. drop everything you’re doing and learn Mandarin Chinese! Ok, maybe you don’t need to stop everything to learn the #1 most spoken language on Earth. In fact, we have developed a brand new book series that makes learning Chinese fun, interactive, and convenient so that it can fit into your day by doing something you’re already doing. Reading a Children’s book!
You might remember us from our first campaign when a bunch of you supported our goal to make learning Mandarin Chinese more accessible and creative through the book Ping Pong Panda: Let’s go To Space. Thanks to you, there are now thousands of copies of that book in the hands of early learners, language enthusiasts, teachers, and parents in the United States and in China. The 5 star reviews and positive feedback encouraged us to continue the project into what we envisioned from the beginning a complete series. We are back so that you, our early supporters can be the first to get our brand new completed trilogy.
Our book teaches Mandarin basics at a basic to intermediate level and is designed to build language fluency through repeated readings, audio-accompaniment, and the Mandarin Study sections as well as spark the imagination of future explorers. Ping Pong Panda, The Trilogy is a fully illustrated bilingual series with text in English, Pinyin, and Characters.
Give the kids in your life a head start on learning one of the most important languages of today! More and more US and EU schools are offering Chinese as a second language. Help your student develop an early ear, eye, and tongue for the language with this series.
A few years ago, language writer, Eric Foltmer (author of Chinese for Business Travelers) teamed up with John de Mars ( a Seattle artist and entrepreneur), and John Whalen with the goal: to create a world class book series that can help students learn Chinese and bridge the gap from elementary to advanced skills. After three years of drafting, drawing, writing, and editing, we are extremely happy to announce that this completed series can now be yours!
From the Ping Pong Panda team, thank you!
